Family and family wealth
In most civilizations and in most times, the family has been one of the most respected and admired institutions, the union of the family being one of the most sought-after values by a clear majority of people.
This phenomenon, almost universal, has a special relevance in those families whose wealth is important. Belonging to one of these families creates for their members a high social relevance, and carries important advantages for them. But, for that to hold true, it is absolutely required that the family stays united around a series of family values.
If it is true that belonging to a wealthy family generates important advantages, then it is also true that it means substantial challenges. An example of this is the necessity to raise children with an adequate education, making them responsible for the family legacy that they will receive, devoting time and energy to the organization and management of the family wealth (in the widest meaning of the word management) that is becoming more complex every day. Family cohesion, always a good thing to have but not always an easy thing to achieve, is continuously challenged in these cases with the ultimate goal that the family wealth becomes an important thing to preserve and enjoy, not a source of conflicts.
